There seems to a number of ways in which this subject can be viewed and it is often the case that those with vested powers in the current fossil-fuel based industries will skew the facts or chose to ignore them as it is not in their financial interest.

Physics does not have ethics or a conscience. Physics follows certain laws of our Universe and one of them is that CO2 traps infra-red radiation attempting to leave the earth’s atmosphere and sends that heat back. Essentially this is important for life on earth. But not so the ‘enhanced’ Greenhouse gas effect we are now witnessing.

The other is that fossil fuel use releases CO2 into the atmosphere.

There are other Greenhouse gases such as Methane. However CO2 has been at the centre of the renewable industry’s attempt to offset.

It does not take rocket science to understand these basic facts, but in fact, high-school science.
