7.44kWp Q.Cells system in Caulfield North, Victoria with A Fronius inverter and selectronic battery storage

03 June 2020.
”I first approached Solar Victoria regarding the State subsidised installation of PV Panels on the roof to avoid loss of power for airconditioning during a Mains shutdown.

iEnergytech was the contractor engaged by Solar Victoria to do the work for which we paid and applied for the Government Rebate. When there was a power failure we discovered that in order to avoid loss of power during a Mains Shutdown we needed a Battery Backup. By that time our need for an unbroken electricity supply had become more urgent with the installation of electrically powered medical equipment in our home and the Victorian Government were offering a subsidy for Battery installation.

We had been very impressed by the reliability and professionalism of iEnergytech and, in any case wished to avoid affecting warranty of the existing installation, so I approached iEnergytech for a quotation to extend our existing installation to provide a battery backup. I dealt with Bhajan Plahe and during the design and quotation period - she advised me to check with Solar Victoria regarding eligibility for the Battery Installation. I was advised by Solar Victoria that if I did not withdraw my still outstanding claim for Subsidy of the original PV roof panels I would not be eligible for the battery backup installation subsidy. So, on their advice I withdrew the application. After further enquiries over a period of many months and a series of confusing press releases from Solar Victoria it transpired that the battery installation rebates were restricted to certain postcode areas and ours was unlikely to ever become eligible.

By this time iEnergytech had ascertained that there was new improved equipment becoming available and the existing inverter would in any case, become redundant. They gave a generous rebate for the Inverter and provided a lump sum quotation to install the newly available equipment that was acceptable to us. When work was under way they discovered that unfortunately some of the technical information on the equipment supplier’s website on which their quotation was based, had not been updated and was incorrect.

The project rapidly became a prototype project for an installation using the new equipment; and significant extra costs were incurred, notably in the provision of a weatherproof cabinet. iEnergytech generously honoured their lump sum contract and at all times provided a high-quality service.

During the final installation commissioning stage Udayan Bhanot [Managing Director of iEnergytech] took charge and directed the work to ensure the highest standard and that the installation was tailored to meet our needs providing an efficient solution to both the supply continuity and economy together with a safe cabinet that was both child proof and weather proof.

The end result is an excellent reliable installation that meets our needs, saves on costly electricity bills, contributes to the Power Grid and, as my Son said “though we may be too old to expect to recoup the outlay, the installation has added significantly more value to the house than it’s cost”.

In all aspects we are pleased, but particularly with our dealings with Bhajan and Udayan who we thank for their professionalism and generosity of spirit.”
